Abstract
► The quality of single-walled carbon nanotubes can be effectively improved by doping appropriate amount of B in the Fe/MgO catalyst. ► The research results shed light on the importance of radical species on the formation of carbon nanotube. ► This method contributes to the understanding of nanotube growth mechanism.
