Abstract
⺠Grazing incident X-ray diffraction enables stress measurements in surface layers. ⺠Göbel mirror significantly reduces the uncertainty of determined stresses. ⺠Using multireflection grazing incidence method the peak broadening can be analysed. ⺠Mechanical polishing can produce stress gradient in the surface layer. ⺠Compressive stress in the CrN film deposited on the steel substrate is generated.
