Abstract
⺠We simulate the reversible vertical single-atom manipulations on several metal surfaces. ⺠We propose a method to predict whether a reversible vertical single-atom manipulation can be successful on several metal surfaces. ⺠A 3-dimensional Ni nanocluster is assembled on the Ni(1 1 1) surface using a Ni trimer-apex tip.
