Abstract
ⶠNanosecond laser radiation at λ = 532 nm results in efficient heating of gold nanoparticles. ⶠThe laser heating can be sufficient to modify material located in close vicinity of the particle, as the affected zone is comparable to the particle size. ⶠGold nanoparticle-assisted photothermal therapy of cancer cells demonstrates the potential of this method in efficient treatment of cancer.
