Abstract
⺠Electron transfer and repopulation play a direct role on each step of CO oxidation. ⺠Generation of atomic oxygen at the transition state acts as the key step for CO oxidation. ⺠Reasonable control of the degree of reduction favors CO oxidation and optimization of chemical looping combustion.
