Abstract
► Fe2O3-, Bi4Ti3O12-, and CoAl2O4-coated lamellar mica-titania pigments were prepared. ► The coating layers were anchored at mica-titania substrates tightly. ► The morphology and loading of coating layers affected the pigmentary performances. ► The color and color purity of the mica-titania based inorganic pigments were tunable.
