Abstract
⺠Evaporation and diffusion phenomena are driving the liquid metal surface oxidation. ⺠A pseudo-thermodynamics approach describes the surface oxidation mechanisms. ⺠The formation of volatile oxides prevents surface oxidation of liquid metals. ⺠Dynamic surface tension measurements successfully validate the theory.
