Abstract
ⶠThe free WC(1 0 0) surface undergoes a relaxation: carbon atoms moved outward, while tungsten atoms moved inward. ⶠThe monolayer layers of cobalt with atoms positioned above carbon atoms are energetically preferable. ⶠCo layers are ferromagnetic, however, the magnetization does not influence essentially their energetics and geometry.
