Abstract
⺠Glycerol-water mixtures confined in MCM-41 C10 have been studied by DSC experiments. ⺠A strong decrease of Tg, compared to bulk, was observed for glycerol. ⺠Tg is almost concentration independent, in contrast to the bulk system. ⺠The findings suggest a micro-phase separation of glycerol and water. ⺠The confined water exhibits no evident Tg.
