Abstract

- Deuteration effect on IR spectra of 7-azaindole tautomeric dimers is investigated.
- The NH/ND stretch levels are found to relax basically within the monomer unit.
- Only the NH stretch of the tautomeric dimer exhibits a drastic deuteration effect.
- The deuteration effect is related to the double proton-transfer reaction.
