Abstract
⺠A frozen Gaussian approximation to the partition function of clusters is studied. ⺠First-order corrections to the semiclassical approximation are introduced. ⺠The correction provides objective access to the quality of the propagator's results. ⺠Calculations for the argon trimer show a clear improvement due to the correction.
