Abstract
Elongated molecules undergo rotational motion in a complex way. The general model of rotational depolarization of fluorescence taking into account the inertial effect and the contribution of dielectric friction was experimentally verified for selected elongated polar molecules (DNS, ANS, POPOP and Nile Red) in polar solvents.
