Abstract
Charge transfer processes resulting from low energy collisions of the molecules CO and C3H8 with Be2+ and B2+ ions have been experimentally investigated. Theoretical study based on a semiclassical analysis of the wave function of tunneling electron was also carried out. The potential for the one-electron exchange interaction between a non-central target (polar molecule) and projectile (atomic ion) were obtained in closed analytical form. Our theoretical calculations are found to be in fairly good agreement with the measured cross sections and with the data of other authors.
