Abstract
An exact solution has been obtained for numbers and densities of vibrational states of the system of “truncated” harmonic oscillators. Simple formulas that present these results in an analytical form have been derived. The model is applied to harmonic oscillators with a cutoff for several molecules for which a close agreement with the exact results is obtained.
