Abstract
In the present work the attention is focused on the nature of the diffusion and transport processes in trehalose-water solutions investigated by using both theoretical and experimental approaches. For this purpose hydrodynamic methods and cell approach for determining the shear viscosity of solution are applied. The dependence of the average and effective shear viscosities, as well as the diffusion and self-diffusion coefficients, on the volume fraction of admixture molecules are investigated. Finally, the role of hydration effects is discussed.
