Abstract
- We investigated effects of a platinum nanoparticle on protein crystal nucleation.
- The presence of the PtNPs increased the number of crystals.
- The PtNPs have the ability to promote the crystal nucleation.
- The PtNP condenses more than 10 lysozyme molecules around it to form a complex.
- The charge of the lysozyme was reduced by delocalizing its charge in the complex.
