Abstract
- Three targeting drug delivery systems were formulated by functionalization of single-walled carbon nanotubes using biopolymers for delivery of doxorubicin.
- Applying Carboxymethyl Chitosan instead chitosan for functionalization led to 10% increase in loading efficiency.
- Release rate can be adjusted by changing the hydrophobic/hydrophilic substitution degree ratios.
- Folic acid attachment led to 15% decrease in cancer cell viability.
- NPCS-SWNT shows the slowest (30%) and CS-SWNT has the highest release rate (70%) of the DOX.
