Abstract

- AlF4, MgF3, and LiF2 superhalogens interact strongly with benzene molecule.
- The resulting C6H6+AlF4−, C6H6+MgF3−, and C6H6+LiF2− systems are of ionic nature.
- Interaction of benzene and LiCl2 leads to a weakly bound C6H6⋯LiCl2 complex.
- Effective ionization of benzene requires the use of rather strong superhalogen.
