Abstract
Thermo-optical characterizations were performed in CdSe/ZnS core-shell quantum dots (QDs) embedded in GPTS/TEOS-derived organic/silica hybrid colloids for three QD sizes (a) 2.4, (b) 2.9 and (c) 4.4Â nm. From the transient thermal lens (TL) signal, higher radiative quantum efficiency values were determined for the QDs in the organic/silica colloids compared with the QDs in toluene. Fluorescence spectra corroborated the TL results.141
