Abstract
- Some metalloporphyrins show a broad absorption band in the NIR region in aromatic solvents.
- The free base analogs do not show any such absorption band.
- Temperature and solvent dependences of the broad absorption band are investigated.
- The new band is ascribed to be due to solute-solvent charge transfer complex formation.
