Abstract
The production of Cl atoms in the laser flash photolysis of ClOOCl at 308 nm has been investigated by time-resolved atomic resonance fluorescence at 235 K. A value of Ï = 1.03 ± 0.12 has been obtained for the primary quantum yield based on an absorption cross section ratio Ï245/Ï308 = 22 for ClOOCl at 245 and 308 nm.
