Abstract
- We experimentally show epitaxial Si growth directly on glass substrate.
- Highly crystalline Si nanowires with an average diameter of 38Â nm are used as seed crystals.
- A homoepitaxial Si shell with a diameter of 200Â nm is grown around the nanowire core.
- A crystalline Si nanowire array (1 μm in length) shows strong broadband optical absorption (>88%).
