Abstract
- We studied hydration of negative ions of trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
- Electrospray method coupled with mass spectrography was used to study the aqueous solution of TCA.
- Mass spectrum of negative charged ions of the TCA consists of single ions and hydrated ions forming a A-(H2O)n series.
- Doubly hydrated ions of the acidic residue are the most intense peaks in the mass spectrum.
