Abstract
- The luminescent properties of Eu2+ in Ca3Sc2Si3O12 were studied for the first time.
- The Eu2+ doped Ca3Sc2Si3O12 exhibit a NIR emission with a maximum at 840Â nm.
- This emission is due to the Eu2+4f65d â 4f7 transition.
- The stability of Eu2+ ions in Ca3Sc2Si3O12 is low.
