Abstract
⺠The direct band gaps of armchair silicon nanoribbons tuned by strain over several hundreds meV. ⺠The exactly closed band gaps under small tensile strains. ⺠The Dirac-type dispersion sustained in the lowest conduction and highest valence bands under strain.
