Abstract
⺠Coupled cluster theory has examined hydride formation in transition metal doped Mg clusters. ⺠Transition metal spin state alters its bonding to Mg. ⺠Transition metal spin state alters energetic favorability for hydride formation. ⺠We propose that application of an external magnetic field can control hydride favorability.
