Abstract
⺠We detect fluorescence form the closed-form isomer of diarylethene. ⺠We relate the fluorescence to the ultrafast absorption dynamics. ⺠The excited state and photoreaction dynamics are clarified. ⺠The anchoring group makes the molecule technologically relevant.
