Abstract
► Perylenes having triple bond(s) were prepared. ► Fluorescence yields, lifetimes and triplet absorption were determined. ► An increase of the number of triple bond decreased fluorescence yields. ► No variations in the fluorescence rates among the perylenes. ► Substitution of triple bond in the perylene moiety enhanced intersystem crossing.
