Abstract
⺠We transform protein sequence into sparse matrix. ⺠Novel 20-D descriptors based on singular value decomposition of matrix were obtained. ⺠The similarities/dissimilarities among the nine ND5 proteins were compared. ⺠Evolutionary relationships were analyzed. ⺠The comparison results show that our approach is valid and practicable.
