Abstract
⺠A novel method is developed for the component analysis of the solvation entropy. ⺠This method enables microscopic interpretation of macroscopic thermodynamic data. ⺠Solvation entropy increases upon misfolding of amyloid-beta protein in water. ⺠This increase is mainly attributed to the formation of non-local backbone contacts.
