Abstract
⺠Molecular photoexcitation is seen as a process driven by the incident radiation. ⺠Jarzynski equality is adopted to define/evaluate the photoexcitation free energy. ⺠Photoexcitation free energy can be experimentally obtained from absorption spectra. ⺠Analysis on model cases supports the proposed perspective.
