Abstract
⺠Decarbonylation of ionized ethyl oxamate cleanly yields the title ion (HBRC-1) in high yield. ⺠Ions HBRC-1 lose CH3CO by a mechanism that involves proton-transport catalysis (PTC). ⺠The PTC mechanism is supported by D-labeling experiments and computational chemistry.
