Abstract
⺠A new H+ sensing SANDI compound has been synthesised and fully characterised. ⺠Addition of H+ leads to an increase (â¼10-15%) in quantum yield and fluorescence lifetime. ⺠Absorption and emission are also blue-shifted â¼500-550 cmâ1. ⺠This is fully reversible on exposure to base and can be repeated many times. ⺠Attributed to partially efficient PET in the neutral form blocked on protonation.
