Abstract
⺠The potential energy surfaces of the Si4Lin (n = 1-7) systems have been explored in detail. ⺠Global minimum structures were identified. ⺠The growth patterns in these clusters is rationalized using the phenomenological shell model. ⺠We propose the Si4Li4 Td cluster as a good candidates for experimental detection.
