Abstract
⺠We reported the enhanced photoluminescence of Mn:ZnS d-dots by thiol ligand exchange. ⺠The mechanism for the enhanced PL of thiol-coated Mn:ZnS d-dots has been discussed. ⺠The quantum yield of the as-synthesized water-soluble dots can reach as high as 50%. ⺠The efficient and water soluble d-dots are suitable for biomedical applications.
