Abstract
⺠The interaction of molecular hydrogen with halide anions is investigated with the aid of DFT calculations. ⺠The bromide anion has the ability to bind up to seven hydrogen molecules. ⺠QTAIM analyses reveal the presence of closed-shell interactions. ⺠Eco-friendly and low-cost materials for hydrogen storage are proposed.
