Abstract
⺠Unwinding mechanism of zwitterionic alpha helical homopolymeric peptides in water using MD simulations. ⺠Early stage unwinding is triggered by fluctuations of the terminal residues. ⺠Unwinding propagates from terminal to middle for polyalanine and polyleucine but not for polylysine.
