Abstract
⺠Excited state dynamics of benzotriphyrin(2.1.1) studied by fluorescence techniques. ⺠The fluorescence quantum yield is determined to be 0.005. ⺠The lifetime of the excited state is obtained as 140 ps. ⺠No intramolecular proton transfer occurs within the lifetime. ⺠The short lifetime is due to internal conversion enhanced by non-planarity.
