Abstract
► Excited state dynamics of benzotriphyrin(2.1.1) studied by fluorescence techniques. ► The fluorescence quantum yield is determined to be 0.005. ► The lifetime of the excited state is obtained as 140 ps. ► No intramolecular proton transfer occurs within the lifetime. ► The short lifetime is due to internal conversion enhanced by non-planarity.
