Abstract
⺠O atom kinetics and branching ratio with methanol has been measured at 775 K. ⺠Abstraction at the methyl group dominates in reaction of O with methanol. ⺠O atom branching with ethanol is dominated by abstraction at α position (â¼75%). ⺠Abstraction from the β and OH sites in ethanol each contribute â¼12%. ⺠First direct measurements of such O atom branching ratios.
