Abstract
► We model the adsorption of BMP-2 on a hydrophobic graphite surface. ► A selection of initial orientations studied allows us to obtain representative results. ► We find that BMP-2 partially unfolds and spreads on the surface. ► Our results indicate that interactions of the adsorbed BMP-2 with cell receptors might be unlikely. ► Our results may prove relevant for applications of bone implants.
