Abstract
⺠Ultrafast spectroscopy of xanthorhodopsin (XR) and bacteriorhodopsin (BR). ⺠Salinixanthin (SX) in XR exhibits an electrochromic shift after retinal excitation. ⺠Electrochromic shift of SX decays co-ordinately with excited state of retinal. ⺠Differences in ultrafast dynamics of XR and BR were found.
