Abstract
⺠Amino acids responsible for regioselection of COMT are evolutionarily conserved. ⺠Meta-methylation of levodopa has lower reaction barrier in gas phase than para-methylation. ⺠Reaction barrier difference between meta- and para- methylation increases inside active site.
