Abstract
⺠A new helical polymer, polycytosineacetylene (PCA), is investigated theoretically. ⺠The optimized cationic polymer exhibits the formation of a soliton. ⺠Doped PCA is predicted to behave as a piezoelectric material and a nanomechanical spring.
