Abstract
⺠New kinetic model for the dissociation of iodine by singlet oxygen has been tested. ⺠Pulsed photolysis of nitrous oxide - iodine mixtures was used to generate singlet oxygen. ⺠Analysis of the temporal profiles of I2, I atoms and singlet oxygen supports the dissociation model.
