Abstract
► Structural and magnetic properties of the catena-poly[[diaquabis(methylisonicotinate-N)cadmium(II)]-μ-(sulfato-O:O′)] are characterized by IR, EPR and X-ray diffraction technique. ► The structure of coordination polymer is controlled by sulfate ligand, while the supramolecular interactions in assemblies are basically controlled by the methylisonicotinate and aqua ligands. ► EPR results show that the Cu2+ ions enter the lattice in substitutional position in the host lattice with rhombic symmetry of the electrostatic field around the ion.
