Abstract
⺠Silver nanoparticles were grown in situ within gelatin matrix. ⺠Large optical shifts were observed at the gelation threshold. ⺠Optical shifts are not induced by a reorganization of the metal nanoparticles. ⺠Optical shifts result from the gel matrix scattering induced by hydrazine.
