Abstract
⺠Orientation of water molecules around ionic arsenic is studied in detail. ⺠Trivalent and pentavalent ionic states of arsenic are considered. ⺠Structure, stability and energetics of the ionic arsenic-water complexes. ⺠The change in binding energy (BE) of the complexes have been discussed. ⺠Symmetry, hybridization and charge transfer in these complexes are illustrated.
