Abstract
⺠Bismuth-covered silicon nanocrystalline quantum dots can exhibit characteristics of magnetic nanoparticles. ⺠Can also exhibit properties of luminescent semiconductor dots, accompanied by manifestations of metal-insulator transition. ⺠These properties, can be critical for the development of nanoscale optoelectronic and opto-magnetic switches.
