Abstract
⺠For the Morse oscillator, Vn=âÏe2n+12. ⺠This result remains semi-quantative for realistic potentials. ⺠The result is consistent with intuition that for anharmonic oscillators, at low n, TnââÏe2n+12 while at large n, Tnâ0. ⺠This n dependence on the average Kinetic energy has implications for energy transfer in atom/diatom collisions.
