Abstract
⺠Poly-(cyano phenylene sulfide) (PCPS), characterized with ferroelectric behaviors even in amorphous phase, is promising as new class of matrix polymers for nonlinear optical materials. ⺠Second order nonlinear optical activity from organic-dye (disperse red 1, DR1)-doped PCPS thin films, was obtained just by depositing on Au-coated thin film even without conventional poling procedure. ⺠A probability of charge transfer complexes between DR1 dyes and PCPS was also mentioned.
